““ Made my first skydive today!!! Has been on my bucket list for years!! So for my 60th birthday I finally accomplished it! This place is top notch!!! My instructor and pilot were awesome! Great, clear instructions...they made sure I knew what to do and not do to make me comfortable and to insure my experience a perfect one! Very professional operation that I would recommend to anyone who wants to have this experience!!!! ””

““ Excellent experience! Dima and Ryan are excellent instructors and my family and I had an incredible time jumping from 10k feet on a clear and sunny day! Absolutely stunning views of the lakes area, and a nice safe easy landing to boot! If you want to take the plunge, this is the place! ””

““ Hands down the best experience, honestly can't beat the view either. I'm so glad I chose to skydive Charlevoix! What a rush. ”
Also thank you to the DC skydiving team! Every step of the process was smooth and I am glad that I chose this place to leap into the clouds 🙂 ””

““ We had a phenomenal time! It was our first time skydiving, and we have absolutely nothing negative to say. Super friendly, helpful, and reassuring staff. The scenery was beautiful, and I'm glad we chose Charlevoix over other locations. They also accommodated every request we had. They are a perfect choice for first timers, but clearly attract repeat customers because we jumped with others who have been there multiple times. You go Ryan and Luther, thanks for taking care of us and giving us such a good experience!”

Frequently Asked Questions

How old do I have to be to skydive?

You must be at least 18 years old to skydive.

What will I see on my skydive?

When you jump with iSkydive Traverse City, you’ll get sweeping views of Grand Traverse Bay, the surrounding lakes, and Northern Michigan’s forests and countryside.

What should I wear for skydiving?

Dress comfortably with weather-appropriate clothes and lace-up shoes. No shoes with hooks on them please.

Why was my jump delayed or rescheduled?

Delays can happen due to weather, air-traffic control, or aircraft maintenance. We do our best to notify you at least two hours before your scheduled time, but sometimes changes happen last minute. We always build some buffer time into the 2–4 hour experience window.

Can my friends and family watch?

Definitely! We love having spectators. There’s a viewing area where they can cheer you on!

How long will I be on site?

Most first-time tandem skydivers spend 2–4 hours at the drop zone. This includes check-in, training, some built-in wait time for your turn on the plane, the jump itself, and post-jump celebration. (Sometimes the timing depends on weather or air traffic, so plan accordingly!)

What extra fees might I be charged?

Possible extras include booking fees, fuel surcharges, or weight surcharges. They’re all listed on our booking and FAQ pages.
If you think something looks off, just email us — we’ll explain the charge or fix it if there’s an error.

Is skydiving fun?

Heck yeah, it’s fun — that’s why we do it! The thrill, the view, the feeling of total freedom… it’s addictive (in a good way).

Can I eat before I jump?

Absolutely! Eat like you would before a moderate workout — not too heavy, not too empty. A light meal helps keep your energy up.

Can I bring my GoPro or phone on the jump?

Sorry, it’s not allowed. The United States Parachute Association (USPA) doesn’t allow tandem students to bring personal cameras on the jump for safety reasons.
The good news? Our professional videographers and photographers capture incredible HD footage — check out our media options and sample videos to see what media option you want for your first jump experience.

What’s the best way to calm nerves before jumping?

Easy — pay attention to the instructions, take a deep breath, and remember, everyone feels butterflies before their first jump. The moment you exit the plane, you will be flying like a bird.

What is your refund or reschedule policy if you cancel for weather?

We offer refunds for deposits if we must cancel due to weather.
If you cancel or need to reschedule, our policy (linked in your booking confirmation) explains what’s refundable and when.
If you were promised a refund but don’t see it posted, email us with your booking number so we can track it down.
Best contact: charlevoix@iskydive.com

How will you communicate about delays or changes?

We’ll send a confirmation email when you book, and text + email updates if weather or schedules change.
Please check your phone and email the morning of your jump. You can also text our main line for real-time weather updates.

Are there weight limits or extra charges?

Yes. There is an extra fee for guests over 200 pounds, with a max weight limit of 240 pounds. All clothing and gear are included in the total weight, and everyone is weighed on arrival. Safety and equipment limits are based on manufacturer specifications and FAA guidelines.

Is skydiving dangerous?

USPA says that skydiving has gotten much safer over the years.  But there are still risks with jumping out of an airplane, which for many people adds to the excitement.  You can read more about the risks involved in the waiver.  We love skydiving and we look forward to showing it to you!
