iSkydive DC operates out of a private airfield at 5075 Airport Rd, Midland, VA 22728, about 51 miles from downtown Washington DC, roughly an hour by car. It’s marketed as the closest tandem skydiving center to DC, and among the options in the region it is, but plan for a real hour-long drive each way.
Rolling Virginia farmland, the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley foothills, and on clear days the outline of Washington DC in the distance.
Yes. iSkydive DC flies a PAC-750 aircraft that holds up to 12 skydivers per load, one of the larger planes in iSkydive’s fleet, which makes it a good fit for big groups, corporate outings, or large celebrations that want everyone in the air together.
Yes. Along with tandem jumps for first-timers, iSkydive DC supports USPA-licensed jumpers with a current logbook or ProTrack, TSO-rated gear, and a reserve packed by an FAA rigger, plus coaches available for skill progression. Most other iSkydive locations focus on tandems only.
Yes. Visitors touring DC’s monuments and museums often add a jump as a one-day side trip, since the drop zone is about an hour outside the city and pairs naturally with a weekend visit.
Yes. iSkydive DC runs dedicated birthday jump and marriage proposal packages, with the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley as the backdrop.
It can. Virginia sees the same four-season mid-Atlantic pattern as the rest of the region, summer humidity and thunderstorms, and winter cold that can affect flying conditions. Delays can also happen due to air traffic control or aircraft maintenance. We do our best to notify you at least two hours before your scheduled time, but sometimes changes happen last minute. We always build some buffer time into the 2 to 4 hour experience window.
Yes. There’s an extra fee for guests over 200 pounds, and the maximum weight limit is 240 pounds. All clothing and gear count toward total weight, and everyone is weighed on arrival. Weight and equipment limits are set by manufacturer specifications and FAA guidelines, not by iSkydive
